Suction cups need clean, dry, flat glass. Press each one down until it goes flat, re-seat them every couple of weeks, and mount the perch where a fall would land on something soft.
A window seat for a cat, held on the glass by four suction cups. No screws, no brackets in the wall, nothing to patch when you move out. The platform is a breathable woven mesh stretched on a steel frame, 45 cm wide, and it holds cats up to 27.5 lb.
Cats want height and a view, and a windowsill rarely gives them both. This hangs on the glass itself, at the height you choose, and it takes no floor space at all. The mesh lets air through, so it does not turn into a hot pad in afternoon sun.
It needs smooth, clean glass to hold. Frosted, textured or dusty glass is what makes suction cups let go, not the weight of the cat. Wipe the glass, press each cup down hard, and press them again every few weeks.

What it is
A cat window seat that mounts on the glass itself
Sold elsewhere as a cat window hammock, and it is the same object: a rectangular platform that grips the pane with suction cups, so your cat lies in the window instead of balancing on the sill. It moves to another window whenever the sun does.
- Two arms, four cupsEach white bracket arm carries two clear suction cups. The platform hangs off the arms at whatever height you press them on.
- Steel frame, mesh topThe weight sits on a steel frame. The woven mesh stretched over it is what your cat lies on, and it breathes instead of holding heat on a sunny pane.
- No holes, no residueNothing is drilled, nothing is screwed into the frame, and nothing is left behind in the sill when you take it down.

Before your cat gets on
Suction cups are reliable, on the conditions they need
A suction cup holds because air pressure presses it flat against the glass. Every way that seal can fail is something you decide before the cat is ever on it, which is why this is worth two minutes rather than a warning label.
Clean, dry, flat glass
Wipe the pane and the cups, then dry both. Textured, frosted, leaded or curved glass will not hold a cup.
Press until the cup goes flat
Push each one hard so the air is squeezed out. Then lean on the platform with your own hand before you invite the cat up.
Never above a hard drop
Over a rug, a bed or a sofa, not over tiles, stone, a radiator or a stairwell.
Re-seat them regularly
Suction relaxes over time, faster through a hot afternoon or a cold night. Push all four cups down again every couple of weeks.

A suction mount is only ever as strong as the glass you put it on. Mount the perch where a fall would land on something soft.

How it mounts
Four steps, no tools
The frame, the two bracket arms and the four suction cups come flat in the box.
- 1Lay the parts outThe frame, the two bracket arms and the four suction cups.
- 2Fit each cup to its armA nut drops into the slot in the bracket, the suction cup screws down onto it, and you tighten it by turning the cup itself.
- 3Slide the cover onThe mesh cover has a sleeve that slips over the frame tube. It comes off the same way, and it unzips for washing.
- 4Press the cups onto the glassClean, dry pane first, then push each of the four cups hard until it flattens out against the window.

How much weight does this cat window perch hold?
Up to 27.5 lb (12.5 kg). That is the figure published by retail listings of the identical perch. We have not run our own load test, so we do not quote one.
Will it stick to my window?
It needs a flat, smooth, cleanable pane: ordinary flat glass, a balcony pane, a glazed door. It will not hold on textured, frosted, leaded or curved glass, and it is not made to go on a wall, a wooden sill or a painted frame.
How do I fit it, and do I need tools?
No tools. A nut drops into the slot in each bracket arm, the suction cup screws down onto it and tightens as you turn the cup, the mesh cover slides over the frame tube, and then you press all four cups hard against clean, dry glass.
Can the cover be washed?
Yes. It unzips and slides off the frame, so you can wash it and slide it back on. The frame itself only needs a wipe.
How often should I check the suction cups?
Push all four down again every couple of weeks, and any time the perch has been knocked or the room has been very hot or very cold. Always mount it where a fall would land on something soft rather than on a hard floor.
If the door opens
A window to watch from, a harness for the day it gets out
The cat that spends all day at the glass is usually the same cat that tries the door the second it opens. A window seat takes the edge off an indoor day; how to walk an escape-artist cat safely is the guide for what happens when that door is left open, and a breakaway collar with a tag is what makes an escaped indoor cat identifiable to whoever finds it.
