- 32 × 29.2 × 41.9 cm12.6 × 11.5 × 16.5 in · 2.7 lb empty
- Internal lock ringClips to the harness so the cat cannot bolt while the bag is open
A carrier is not a walking harness. Clip the internal lock to a harness rather than to a collar, for the same reason you never clip a lead to one.
A hard-shell carrier you wear like a backpack, with a clear acrylic dome on the front so your cat can see out. When the dome makes the inside too warm, it unscrews and a breathable mesh cover takes its place. Both covers are in the box.
The carrier measures 12.6" L × 11.5" W × 16.5" H (32 × 29.2 × 41.9 cm) and weighs 2.7 lb empty. It holds cats up to 14 lb and dogs up to 11 lb. Canvas body, high-density acrylic dome, grommet ventilation holes along the sides, and a built-in internal lock so your cat cannot bolt while the bag is open.
Every carrier ships with a velvet pad, the mesh cover, the semi-sphere transparent cover and the thread lock ring that screws either cover into the front panel. Green or white.

What it is
A carrier your cat can see out of
A hard-shell backpack with a transparent dome for the whole front panel. The cat sits inside and watches where it is going, which is the part that makes the difference on a trip to the vet: a cat that can see the room tends to settle faster than a cat shut in a canvas box.
- The dome comes offThe clear semi-sphere unclips and a mesh cover goes on in its place. Clear for the view and for cold days, mesh when it is warm or when the trip is long.
- It stands up on its ownThe shell is rigid, so the bag keeps its shape on the floor of a waiting room instead of folding around the cat.
- There is a lock insideA short thread lock ring is fixed inside the shell. Clip it to the harness before you open the lid and the cat cannot bolt out of your hands.
A carrier is not a walking harness. Clip the internal lock to the Pawhold escape proof cat harness rather than to a collar, for the same reason you never clip a lead to one.

Two covers, one shell
Clear for the view, mesh for the air
The clear acrylic dome unclips and the mesh cover goes on in its place. Grommet holes run along both sides, so air moves through the shell with either cover fitted.
Removable acrylic dome
High-density acrylic, unclips in seconds. Wipe it with a soft damp cloth only; anything abrasive will haze it.
Mesh cover in the box
Swaps with the dome for warm days and anything longer than a short drive.
Grommet ventilation
Holes along both sides of the shell, so air moves with either cover on.
Internal lock ring
Clips to the harness so the cat cannot jump out while the bag is open.

Specs
The numbers, and where they come from
Those are the published figures and they are all of them. We have not weight-tested the shell ourselves, so we do not quote a number of our own, and no certification is claimed because the manufacturer publishes none.

Dimensions, weight limits and contents as published on the manufacturer’s own product photography and repeated unchanged by multiple retail listings of the identical carrier (2026).
The limit that matters is length, not weight. A cat has to be able to turn around inside 32 by 29 cm of floor. Most adult cats up to about 6 kg manage it. A long-bodied Maine Coon or a Bengal at the top of its range will not, whatever the scale says.

Before the first trip
Leave it open on the floor for a week
A carrier that only ever appears on the way to the vet becomes the thing that means the vet. By the time you actually need it, the bag should be furniture rather than a warning.
- 1Make it furniturePut it down in a room the cat uses, dome off, velvet pad inside. Feed a few meals next to it, then in the doorway, then inside.
- 2Fit the harness indoors firstThen clip the internal lock to it before you close the lid.
- 3Carry it by the top handleWhen you pick it up, not by the straps.
- 4Mesh cover for longer tripsSwap to the mesh cover for anything longer than a short drive, and never leave the bag in a parked car or in direct sun.

Guides
Read before the first trip
The harness is what the internal lock clips to, so these three guides matter here too.
- How to put a harness on your cat, step by stepThe two-finger rule, the four mistakes that leave a gap, and how to build up over several days.
- How to walk an escape-artist cat safelyWhere to go, how much lead to give, and what to do when your cat flattens.
- Cat harness vs collar: which is safer for walkingWhere the force goes on a lead, and why a cat collar is built to release under pressure.
You are covered
What is in the box, and what is not
Carrier, clear dome, mesh cover, velvet pad and the internal lock ring. No harness: the lock ring clips to one, so fit it before the first trip. 30-day returns, free shipping, and a person at info@pawhold.com.
How big a cat does this fit?
Cats up to 14 lb (6.4 kg) according to the manufacturer. In practice, body length matters more than weight: the cat has to turn around inside a 32 by 29 cm floor. Measure your cat nose to tail base before ordering if it is a large breed.
Is the clear dome safe for a cat to travel in?
The dome is ventilated by grommet holes along both sides of the shell, and it swaps for a mesh cover when you want more airflow. What is not safe with any carrier, this one included, is heat: never leave it in a parked car or in direct sun.
What is the lock ring inside for?
It is a short strap fixed inside the shell. You clip it to the cat’s harness before opening the lid, so the cat cannot jump out while the bag is open. Clip it to a harness rather than a collar.
Can I use it as a normal carrier at the vet?
Yes. The shell is rigid and stands on its own, and the top opens, which most vets prefer to a front-loading box because the cat can be lifted out rather than pulled.
Does it come with both covers?
Yes. The clear acrylic dome, the mesh cover, a velvet pad and the internal lock ring are all in the box.
How heavy is it before the cat goes in?
2.7 lb, about 1.2 kg. With a 5 kg cat inside you are carrying a little over 6 kg on your back.
What it is not for
A carrier is for the journey, not the outing
It is for the trip between two places where the cat comes out at the other end. For time actually spent outside, a cat needs its feet on the ground in an escape-proof harness on a long lead, not a view from inside a bubble.
